Mosman Park
Mosman Park Dolls-House Reimagined into a Sleek, Modern Home with Contemporary Elegance.
A dated late 90s Mediterranean Tuscan-inspired ‘dolls-house’ in Mosman Park has been carefully transformed into a sleek, modern residence with a contemporary flair. While the original house boasted good bones and spacious interiors, it was in dire need of a makeover to meet modern standards. The Owners tasked us with reimagining the space, updating finishes, and creating a cohesive, stylish home.
The interior was entirely stripped and remodelled with new cabinetry, tiling, fixtures, and fittings. A streamlined facade now features a flat-pan metal roof with architectural eaves detailing, replacing the outdated portico and roof tiles. The roof was re-pitched and simplified, with added eaves overhangs providing shade to the west-facing frontage.
The interior layout was optimized by reworking angled walls and incorporating a scullery between the kitchen and a previously disused study. Upstairs, a kitchenette was added to the lounge area. New travertine walls and metalwork enhance privacy from the street, enabling better use of the front garden.
Elegant details including fluted glass, a blackbutt timber front door, and knurled bronze hardware complement the interior’s modern aesthetic, while plantation shutters add sophistication. Carefully selected pendant lights enhance the kitchen and dining spaces, and improved insulation and integrated air conditioning ensure year-round comfort. This beautifully renovated home is now poised to serve its owners for many more years to come.
